The Toulouse Meetings – 13/14 April 2010 – Boosting training for aerospace engineers and managers

Gifas is involved with this original initiative that aims to bring aerospace engineers and managers together to talk through the major technological issues affecting the future of the industry, promote mutual understanding and the spread of knowledge to all players as well as encourage dialogue between SMEs, large companies and research centres.

A Guide for initial training in France. 
Jobs specification sheets "CAP, BTS-DUT, Engineers et Apprentissage". Published every second year at the Paris International Airshow. 50 pages.                                                                  

Recently published: GIFAS directory - 2009 Edition

The Gifas Directory features datasheets on all Gifas members. It includes an index of people, a list of members' offices and representatives by country, and a bilingual index of business activities and products. The Directory is a highly regarded source of basic information concerning the French aerospace industry. An updated version is published each year. Price: €73 (including VAT and postage).

November 2009 - Eurocopter and the Bluecopter: the "greening" of helicopters

Against a backdrop of European regulations, sustainable development and competitive forecasts, Eurocopter has put in place a strong environmental policy affecting both its helicopters and manufacturing facilities.
A new Gifas press briefing, on the theme of the helicopter’s role in an eco-responsible environment, was organized on Monday 9 November at Eurocopter, attended by about twenty journalists from the environment and aviation press.

June 2009 - Aircraft deconstruction and technological developments in eco-design

A second meeting was organized with Airbus, Tarmac Aerosave, Snecma, Sita, Dassault Aviation and ATR at Tarmac Aerosave in Tarbes, and at Dassault Aviation at Bordeaux-Mérignac, on Wednesday 27 May, on the subject of aircraft deconstruction and technological developments in eco-design.

GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association, has more than 260 members, from major prime contractors and system suppliers to small specialist companies.
They cover the full spectrum of skills from the design, development and production of aerospace systems and equipment to maintenance and operation.
Activities extend from civil and military aircraft and helicopters to engines, missiles and armament, satellites and launch vehicles, plus aerospace, defence and security major systems, equipment, subassemblies and associated software.
