GIFAS directory - 2010 Edition

The Gifas Directory features datasheets on all Gifas members. It includes an index of people, a list of members' offices and representatives by country, and a bilingual index of business activities and products. The Directory is a highly regarded source of basic information concerning the French aerospace industry. An updated version is published each year in March.

1909 - 2009 Aeronautics & Space: from Paris to Le Bourget, a century of Air Shows

The Paris Air Show is 100 years old - that is, a century of promotion for the breathtaking technical progress that aeronautics and aerospace manufacturers have achieved.
How far they have come, and especially what vision our predecessors must have had to regularly organize an exhibition of such magnitude.
For years, the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget airfield has been the world's largest exhibition of its kind, a fantastic dispaly of the most advanced technologiers, and a not-to-be-missed rendezvous for business and the general public alike.
This air fair first opened its doors at the start of the twentieth century, in step with the emergence of the French aeronautics industry.

October 2008 – Gifas booklet on aerospace careers

Backed by the cooperation agreement signed by Gifas and the French Ministry of Education and Research, Gifas recently published an information booklet on aerospace careers, which is aimed at the general public and young people in particular.

It provides information on the whole spectrum of careers available in the aerospace sector, from aircraft design and maintenance to all the ‘support’ trades associated with the industry.

In addition to about twenty career fact sheets, the guide also lists useful addresses and references for jobs, training courses and careers in the aerospace sector.

The booklet was produced in cooperation with Airemploi, a careers information centre specialized in the aerospace and aviation sectors, which was co-founded by Gifas.

REACh guidelines, version 2 – June 2008

70-page document (in French) explaining the new European REACh regulations, which came into force on 1 June 2007. This is an update of version 1 of the guidelines, initially published in June 2007.

REACh concerns the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals and requires compliance by all manufacturers, importers and users of chemical substances operating within the European Union.

These guidelines include information on registration, downstream users, chemical substances in articles, pre-registration and data sharing, as applicable in June 2008. Key updates to the guidelines are indicated by a green line in the margin.

Aerospace industry accounting guidelines

An update to the French aerospace industry accounting guidelines, which were approved by the French Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Industry on 8 May 1972. This update complies with regulations established by the ministerial order of 27 April 1982, and all trade-specific adjustments approved by France's National Accounting Council (Conseil National de la Comptabilité) in official authorization n°16 dated 23 December 1983. The 1985 edition also serves to update, complete or clarify the 1972 edition of the guidelines.
