    The Paris Air Show is the world's best-know and most prestigious aerospace event.

    For over a century, the major international players of the aerospace industry have come together at an unmissable event focussed both on innovation and business : The Paris Air Show.

    In 2013, this event brought together 2,215 exhibitors, 285 delegations, 150 aircraft and 315,000 visitors from all over ther world.

    Each Paris Air Show is an event on a global scale.

    The 50th International Paris Air Show



    The 50th edition of the International  Paris Airshow will take place from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 June 2013, as acted by the Board of Administrators of Gifas. 

    Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June are only for professional visitors. 
    The Airshow will be opened to general public friday 21 june ( free entrance to  universities and schoolsstudents), Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June 2013.
    The General Commissioner for the International Paris Airshow is M. Emeric d'Arcimoles.

    Russian fighter jet makes a big comeback at the Paris Air Show


    Visitors to the 50th Paris Air Show in June will be treated to daily flight demonstrations of the Sukhoi Su 35 presented by United Aircraft Corporation.

    Irkut Corporation’s Yak 130, military training aircraft, will also be presented in flight.

    And finally, Super Jet International will be showing its 100-seat commercial airliner, the Super Jet 100, in the static display area.

    Espace Emplois-Formations – International Paris Air Show – 17-23 June 2013

    During the trade-only days (17–20 June 2013), the Espace Emplois – Formations (Careers & Training area) hosts talks, activities and HR events on topics related to employment and training.

    On the general public days (21, 22 & 23 June), Gifas is organizing two major careers events aimed in particular at young visitors and their parents. The idea is to present and promote the trades and professions practised in the French aerospace industry as well as related training courses.
    The Forum Air & Espace brings together training establishments, aerospace companies, airlines and the French defence sector in the Concorde Hall.
    The "Careers Plane" is a special, fun exhibition giving visitors the opportunity, for the first time at the Paris Air Show, to see real-life demonstrations of the many careers available in aircraft manufacturing.

    Admission: €13.50
    Admission to the Paris Air Show on Friday 21 June is free to students on production of a valid student card.
    The Espace Emplois – Formations will be open every day from 09.30 to 18.00.


    Paris Air Show 2013: Gifas behind two major aerospace careers events focused on careers and training in the French aerospace industry

    Every year at the International Paris Air Show, the Gifas Social Affairs and Training department organizes the Forum Air & Espace, a careers and training fair for the general public. At this year’s show, Gifas is also behind a new Paris Air Show special exhibition: “The Careers Plane”.
    Both events are organized by the Gifas Social Affairs & Training department.



      “The Careers Plane: take off for a career
    in aircraft building"

    The Paris Air Show special aerospace careers exhibition “The Careers Plane” will be located close to the Concorde Hall, among the aircraft on show in the static display area. Aerospace operators, technicians and engineers will show the public what is involved in their daily work, designing, building and selling aircraft, satellites and related equipment.

    18th Forum Air & Espace

    The 18th Forum Air & Espace
    will take place in the Gifas Espace Emplois – Formations (Careers & Training area) in the Concorde Hall of the Air & Space Museum, on the three general public days (21, 22 & 23 June 2013).
    As the leading aerospace careers and training event, the Forum Air & Espace brings together training establishments, aerospace companies, airlines and the French defence sector.
    It is aimed particularly at visitors looking for courses, placements or employment.


    During the trade-only days (17–20 June 2013), the Espace Emplois – Formations hosts talks, activities and HR events on topics related to employment and training.

    The 49th International Paris Airshow:  
    a huge success for the industry and general public




    During the final press conference held saturday 26th June, 
    M. Louis LE PORTZ, General Commissioner for the International Paris Airshow, presents the results of the 49th edition, one of the most significant of the whole history of the airshow. 

    Louis Le Portz said in his address that there had been record numbers of exhibitors and visitors from the industry and general public.

    "Green" aircraft quiz - List of winners

     In the framework of CORAC, the Gifas has organized a quiz on environmental issues for the general public of the Paris Airshow. 
    The answers to the 12 questions of the quiz were to be found on the 
    stands of the exhibitors, sponsors of the game: AIR FRANCE,AIRBUSDASSAULT AVIATIONDGADGACEADSFNAMGIFASIFP Energies NouvellesONERA, SAFRAN and THALES.


    The prizes were awarded by drawing of lots to the fifty winners who all received a price from the Gifas member companies sponsoring the game. The first prize was a trip for two to New York.

    The Gifas at the Paris Airshow 2011

    Traditionally, the Gifas is very much involved in the setting up, organisation and the successful runing of the Paris Airshow,
    specially concerning official delegations, members' companies assistance and global communication.
    The Airshow in a unique place for members' companies to welcome guests, French and international partners and communicate on all events: 
    announcement of cooperation and partnership programs, bilateral work meetings, official visits and meetings, price awards, and so on...

    To do so, Gifas provides to its members the President chalet, the Members' chalet and the International chalet.
    Besides runing the French Republic President, the Prime Minister, the French government members visits, the Gifas is in charge of official delegations, Parliament members and French and international delelgations visits welcomed at the Honorary pavilion.
    This year, the Paris Airshow has hosted 290 official delegations, from nearly 100 countries.

    The Gifas stand  was a meeting and working place for members and their visitors. 
    On the static dispaly, the press center was also managed by the Gifas. 
    The Careers & Training section and the Air & Space Forum met a large success in terms of visitors, exhibitors and events. 



    A Gifas stand GIFAS dedicated to SME members' companies



    Located in the main Hall of the exhibition, theGifas stand hosted this year 23 exhibitors, of which 15 SME companies.  
    The strategic position of this stand and the exhibition concept was unanimously appreciated by all. It combined best services - specific meeting space for clients, private meeting rooms, lunch area -  for a minimum costs. 

    And also : presence and support from the Aero SME committee Honorary president and the Gifas team.








    Very large media coverage of the Airshow 



    3 176 journalist and media representatives from all over the world  attended, the 2011 Paris Airshow.  

    Twenty international medias (newspapers, press agencies, TV...) had their own office at the Airshow press center. 
    The journalists could download from a special platform high definition images and videos from the show, fre of charge, to cover the daily highlights for their own television or websites.

    Solar Impulse at the Paris Air Show


    The organisers of the International Paris Air Show were delighted and extremely proud to host the présence of the Solar Impulse aeroplane as the show's "Special Guest".

    Rocketry Challenge: kids launched their rockets



    On June 24th, the international finale of Rocketry Challenge, organised by the association Planète Sciences and the Gifas in France, took place during the Paris Air Show.
